About

I’m Siri Napan. My nickname is Nok (/nōk/) — it means “bird” in Thai. I was born and grew up in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I spent my childhood dreaming of being a photographer, and when in high school, I was determined to be a computer engineer. Somehow I ended up in medical school.

I came to the U.S. in 2006 for residency, starting my journey in Chicago, before moving to Washington, D.C. for fellowship. I got my first job as a cardiologist in McAllen, Texas, a U.S.–Mexico border city. After spending over a year with the practice, I decided to go north to Pittsburgh for another fellowship.

Acceptance to my second job finally brought me to Seattle, where I call home. After three years, I ended my conventional medical career to live a more adventurous life and pursue my childhood dream.
